What is a miscarage?
A miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy before 24 weeks of pregnancy, with most miscarriages occurring before the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Sadly miscarriage is a common occurrence and 1 in 4 pregnancies end this way.
Feelings
The emotional impact of miscarriage can be greater than the physical effects of miscarriage, miscarriage can cause a range of feelings and emotions, some women describe feeling numb and empty following a miscarriage, grief is also a normal reaction having intense feelings as that after a bereavement. There is no right or wrong way to feel as everyone reacts differently.
Having a miscarriage doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to get pregnant again, and most women go on to have a successful pregnancy in the future.
