The free condoms by post service aims to provide free condoms within the NHS Forth Valley area to those most vulnerable to poor sexual health outcomes.

These populations have been defined as priority groups:

  • Young people under 26
  • Injecting drug users
  • People with HIV or other BBVs
  • Men who have sex with men (MSM)
  • Ethnic minority groups in particular from sub-Saharan Africa
  • Prison population
  • Sex industry workers

    Condoms
    You will receive 10 condoms of the type selected.

    Standard fit = 190mm nominal length, 54mm nominal width. Measurement guide available below the form.

    Ribbed fit = 190mm nominal length, 52mm nominal width. Measurement guide available below the form.

    Delay fit = 190mm nominal length, 53mm nominal width. Measurement guide available below the form.

    Larger fit = 205mm nominal length, 60mm nominal width. Measurement guide available below the form.

    Closer fit = 180mm nominal length, 49mm nominal width. Measurement guide available below the form.

    Non-Latex fit = 190mm nominal length, 58mm nominal width. Measurement guide available below the form.

    Flavoured Condoms
    Flavoured condoms are designed for oral sex. Not recommended for vaginal or oral sex.

    Lubricant
    Lubricant may be used if it makes vaginal sex more comfortable and lubricant is recommended for anal sex.

    Oral Dam
    Placing a dam over your partner's genitals or anus before you have oral sex, reduces the chances of sexual transmitted infections.

    Firstly, find yourself a ruler and measuring tape and make sure your penis is erect. This will ensure you get the perfect fit. 

    Measuring Length: 

    1. Place a ruler or measuring tape under your erection, making sure the edge of the measuring tool is at the base of your penis, ensuring that the entire shaft will be covered.
    2. Your length is the number (in mm) that you see above the tip of your penis (this is the measurement of your erect penis to the end of the tip).

    Measuring Width:

    1. Wrap your measuring tape gently around the middle of your erection. If you don’t have a measuring tape, you can loop a piece of string around your penis and then measure the string with a ruler afterwards.
    2. The measurement on the measuring tape / or the string (in mm) is the circumference of your penis. Half this measurement to find the correct width of the condom you require.

    Please note: You may want to choose a slightly different size, based on your personal preference.  Also, don’t be afraid to try out different sizes to find out what is most comfortable for you. A proper fit is both comfortable and held snugly in position.
